CellarLog is designed with privacy first. Your wine collection data is stored locally on your device and syncs via your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your wine collection, tasting notes, or personal information.
Anonymous Usage: When you use AI label scanning, we process the label image through our AI service to identify the wine. The scanned image is not stored on our servers after processing. We use anonymous Firebase authentication — no email, name, or personal details are required.
Scan Counts: For free-tier users, we track the number of AI scans used via Firebase Firestore to enforce usage limits. This data is associated with an anonymous identifier, not your personal identity.
Wine Database: When AI identifies a wine, the result may be cached in our shared database to provide faster results for future users scanning the same wine. No personal information is included in cached entries.
Your wine collection syncs across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Subscription and purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.
The Lifetime purchase option provides full app features with zero ongoing cloud dependency. Your data remains entirely on your device and iCloud — no Firebase or server communication required.
You can delete all your data at any time by deleting the app or using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings. Since we don't store personal data on our servers, there is nothing additional to delete.
CellarLog is not intended for use by children under 17. The app involves wine and alcohol content.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
